Personalized, state-themed wall decorations made from offcuts from other projects
Since my two older siblings recently moved into new houses in different states, I decided my Christmas gift for them in 2025 should remind them of home. I cut different colors of scrap wood into thin strips, then matched them up.
After gluing, I cut them square. I turned the large sections into multiple smaller cutting boards. I then used a Dremel to engrave the state outlines, and filled the groove with ink. After a quick coat with polyurethane and a leather strap to hang from, the boards were ready to go.
I glued my boards together into large sections and clamped them to cure
